An energetic start to Grenada’s 2024 Carnival Season

It’s official like a government stamp. Saturday May 4th saw the launch of Grenada’s 2024 Spicemas carnival season. That means for the next three months it’s gonna be straight pace ramping up to the last day of Carnival on August 13th.

The launch was held at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium car park and the atmosphere was giddy with excitement as the public got a taste of what’s to come for the carnival season. It kicked off at 5 PM with a parade of Traditional Mas along Melville Street and of course the world famous Jab Jabs were there as well, all up in things a Jabs often are.

The National Carnival Queen contestants also graced the stage with their presents.

There were presentations from Vibe Mas Fancy Mas Band and a Monday Night Mas Band. After which some of Grenada’s well know Calypso and Soca Artistes performed their popular songs as well as some early ‘tunes’ for the season.
